New Jersey camp worker saves himself from severe lightning

Aurora, New York (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — Lightning struck a Camp Marcella worker on 17th June in New Jersey but at the same time, the camp worker from Rockaway Township was able to manage walking to the nearby hospital. The worker, 47, safely crawled to the hospital during the thunderstorms that were affecting the area. The man is still not identified and the police are trying their best to release the identification of the man as soon as they get the answers.

According to Bob Jenkins, the Fire Chief at the Rockaway Township said that the man’s cap was hit by the severe lightning and that his body and sneakers felt the exited thunderstorms as well. As reported to Bob, the lightning affected the man by blowing his sneakers from his feet but he was lucky enough to fight the natural disaster and come out of it unharmed.

The marks of the storm were left around the region of Garden State and the trees of Denville, Morristown and Cranford were downed by fire and it was the worst scene faced by the residents. According to the Jersey Central Power & Light, the regions that suffered the most were the regions of Monmouth and Morris. Also, as reported by a spokesman, George Sous of Public Service Electric & Gas, around 2,400 clients or the customers lost their services until 7:30 p.m.

Sous further commented that the territory was evenly distributed with outages and there would be a more in the Bergen County as compared to other counties. Moreover, everything was cleaned up quickly after the incident. According to the police, in Morris County, no injuries were faced but various homes faced appliances damages. A tree also fell in Cranford thereby blocking the traffic.
The storm created chaos in the Newark Liberty International Airport schedules.

Some flights were postponed and delayed while some flights that were ready for departure were held for a few hours as reported in the website of Federal Aviation Administration.
