Nip/Tuck – The Lawsuit – Now Showing on: NewYorkInjuryNews.com

New York Medical Malpractice Attorneys /lawyers explain medical negligence and liability issues. New York City, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — You may be familiar with the popular TV show featuring the glamorous lives of some young Miami surgeons. Unfortunately, in reality, plastic surgery results do not always mean Hollywood beauty. In fact, results can be so horrendous that it can lead to multi-million dollar malpractice awards.

One Park Avenue plastic surgeon has had so many bad results that his patients took to calling him, “The Butcher”. Sophia (not her real name) went to this plastic surgeon for breast and thigh liposuction. She was not satisfied with the results after the first procedure, so she went back for a second thigh procedure.

This second procedure involved the “technical assistance” of a salesman from a liposuction manufacturing company and was only supposed to last two hours. It ended up taking all day. Sophia looked so bad after the operation that her husband wanted to take her directly to a hospital. The plastic surgeon told her that all she needed was to go home, drink Gatorade and eat red meat.

A few days later Sophia had to be rushed to the emergency room where she was taken to the ICU for an emergency transfusion of four quarts of blood. Her husband said, “The bastard. During the operation he poked her artery and sucked all the blood out”.

The end result of the surgery is that Sophia has now been left with permanent nerve damage and disfigured legs. Sophia then proceeded to hire attorneys to litigate against the plastic surgeon.

After an investigation, it turned out that the doctor had misrepresented his credentials, such as being “Board Certified”, a designation meaning he had passed certain examinations. In fact, he was not board certified. Nor did he hobnob with stars, such as Cher or Paris Hilton as he claimed.

And it turns out that there were quite a few other claims against this doctor including other botched liposuctions which led to scarring, severed veins and other bad results.

This doctor advertised in multiple languages and venues including, of all places, diner menus.

A lesson to be learned here is to not rely solely on advertising. People of all professions can claim just about anything. Conduct research, ask for recommendations and don’t be afraid to get a second opinion. Protect and educate yourself as a consumer.
