Jonathan Milstein, 50, was struck and killed on Wednesday by a school bus during a morning bike ride in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn.
The accident happened at around 8 am. The school bus involved was, reportedly, not carrying any children or passengers at the time of the incident.
Witnesses told police that Mr. Milstein might have been attempting to beat a red light when he was struck by the school bus in the intersection of President St. and Eighth Avenue.
Witnesses also reported that they saw Mr. Milstein wearing a helmet.
Mr. Milstein owned a design and printing business in Manhattan. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
The death of Jonathan Milstein marks the second time in less than a week in which a fatal accident occurred involving bicyclists on Brooklyn roadways. Alexander Toulouse, 8, was killed recently in a collision with a postal truck in downtown Brooklyn.
