Reddick pickup truck rollover accident leaves Palm Harbor passenger dead.

Ocala, FL(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A fatal motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving two vehicles killed one woman and seriously injured a man on Saturday afternoon in the Ocala area. The Gainesville Sun reports the automobile accident took place in Reddick, Florida, at about 12:45 p.m., on Saturday. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) state troopers say a 2006 Ford Expedition SUV was traveling in the center lane on northbound Interstate 75 when it crossed into the outside lane and hit a 1997, brown, Ford F-150 pickup truck. Marion County police authorities state the SUV ended up on the right shoulder of the highway, while the pickup truck flipped a number of times before coming to rest, upside down, in the inside lane. The SUV was driven by Charles S. Knapp of Sarasota. The pickup truck was operated by 44 year-old Karl M. Blagg of Hudson.

Reddick area emergency medical services (EMS) personnel took Blagg and his female passenger, a 48 year-old, from Palm Harbor, to Shands at the University of Florida hospital in Gainesville for treatment of her very critical injuries. Doctors pronounced the woman passenger dead at 4:23 p.m. Blagg is still in critical condition. Marion County police investigators have not indicated whether Blagg and his passenger had worn safety belts at the time of the pickup truck rollover accident. Knapp was reported to be wearing his safety belt and was not hurt in the truck wreck. Florida highway accident investigators shut off a portion of the I-75 freeway for nearly four hours while detectives investigated the pickup truck rollover fatality.
