Visalia area multiple automobile accident seriously injures young passenger.

Visalia, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–An automobile accident involving three vehicles seriously injured an 11 year-old girl on Saturday, June 27, 2009. The Visalia Times-Delta reported that the girl was in fair condition as of Monday afternoon. California Highway Patrol (CHP) state troopers say the motor vehicle collision (MVC) took place just five miles east of Tulare at approximately 1:55 p.m., on Saturday afternoon. The three-car wreck happened at Road 152 and Avenue 232. Details regarding the car crash have not been released. Tulare County police officials have not announced the cause of the three-vehicle wreck.

11 year-old Karen Patino, of Lindsay, was one of the passengers riding in a Chrysler Sebring when the MVC occurred. The impact of the collision trapped Patino behind the driver’s seat in the car. California fire rescue crew used an extrication tool, Jaws of Life, to free Patino. Patino was then airlifted by Tulare area emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to the Fresno hospital. Doctors and nurses treated her major head injuries and she is currently listed in fair condition. The Chrysler car had three other occupants. Maria, Karen Patino’s mother, was one of the occupants. Maria was released by Tulare paramedics after being treated at the accident scene. The remaining two occupants, an unidentified 13 year-old and 27 year-old, were reported uninjured. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the car accident was 52 year-old Mario Torres, of Tulare and 55 year-old John Greener. of Strathmore. Tulare County police authorities say Torres was not injured in the car crash. Greener was transported to a local area hospital for a minor leg injury and other medical issues not directly caused by the wreck.
