2 women were injured in Sabra Dipping Company industrial accident in Long Island, NY.
Nassau County, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com)– In East Farmingdale, Long Island, two female employees at Sabra Dipping Company, a hummus producer, were seriously injured on the job when they tried to constrict a highly pressurized tube Tuesday evening. The tube broke loose and sprang at the two female employees seriously injured them when they were working at the plant, according to Long Island Press.
The factory workers were identified as Leyla Sabillion, 29, and Argelia Ayala, 31, reported police officials. The Sabra Dippping Corporation –located on Smith Street in Farmingdale– where Emergency Police Service helicopter transported one of the women—Leyla Sabillon, to Stony Brook University Medical Center for a severe injury to her left arm.
Argelia Ayala suffered only minor injuries from the incident; however, she was transported to the local Nassau University Medical Center for damage to her midsection, where she had been hit by the hose. Both of the women suffered from minor wounds. The local Fire Department officials arrived to inspect the scene of the accident.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will possibly investigate the incident at the Sabra Dipping Company’s Long Island industrial unit.
