New Jersey transit accident where passenger train collides with car—kills 1, no injuries.
Waterford Township, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNew.com)—Late afternoon Tuesday, a woman drove into a passenger train headed toward Philadelphia near Atco train station at the grade crossing in Waterford Township, announced by the Philadelphia Press.
The victim was indentified as Diane Perry, 79, who was a Williamstown local, claimed Police Officials.
A reported 100 passengers on board the train were redirected to the local bus transportation to continue on to Philadelphia, the original destination. All the passengers maintained no injuries due to the wreck. New Jersey transit Authorities announced that the collision took place late afternoon around 5pm.
The Diane Perry’s car was demolished beyond minor recognition after collided with the passenger train. The remains of the vehicle were beside the tracks at the crossroads of Atlantic Avenue and Bartram Avenue. Diane Perry was announced dead on the scene. The passenger train involved in the crash was being fixed up by workers.
The train resumed the normal schedule later that evening, reported Officials. Locals were interviewed and said that there had not been many accidents like this one in the past few years.
