Police officials reported tragic accident resulting in death on construction work site.
Amenia, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — In Amenia, New York, Police officials are heavily investigating the construction accident where an operator of an asphalt machine happened to fall to his death when working, as reported by the Associated Press.
The construction worker was on site in Amenia when he suddenly fell off of the large piece of equipment pouring asphalt and landed on the ground which claimed the employees life. Authorities received news of the accident Wednesday morning. The man from upstate New York has been identified as 23 year-old Donald Flood, a resident of Wassic, which is a small town of Amenia, New York.
The investigation will continue further to determine the possible causes for this tragic accident. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) http://www.osha.gov/ has filed many reports of construction accidents pertaining to incidents involving asphalt. Asphalt exposure, especially inhaling the fumes, are extremely hazardous to one’s health.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) have publications which evaluate and research the dangers of asphalt exposure.
