Revere, Massachusetts SUV rollover accident on route 1 kills 2 teenagers.
Boston, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — In the town of Revere in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, police reported SUV with 5 teenagers driving home from the movies drove into a guardrail and rolled across northbound lanes of Route 1, as announced by the Boston Globe.
The teenagers riding in the back seat of the 2000 Mitsubishi Montero were declared dead by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at the scene of the wreck. Police reported that it was a 16-year old female from Hull, and a 17 year-old male from Ipswich, however their names have not been announced until the families of the teenagers have been informed of the crash, officials stated. Police laid a covering over the SUV so that curious drivers would not slow traffic to view the demolished vehicle.
The SUV driver was a 19-year-old female resident of East Weymouth, who was transported to the Massachusetts General Hospital for severe injuries by paramedics. The two other passengers, both 17-years-old teenagers, riding in the SUV were badly injured were also taken to the General Hospital for treatment.
The male passenger who was killed was not wearing his safety beat at the time of the crash. All four of the other passengers were buckled up at the time of the accident. It is unclear as to what the cause was for this SUV rollover crash. Detectives are investigating if consumption of alcohol or reckless driving are possible factors of this crash.
