New York personal injury lawyers issue accident report: 8-year-old boy drives four-wheeler into a tree killing his 3–year-old sister.
Austerlitz, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — In Columbia County, a family was housing sitting when their 3-year old girl was killed riding on the back of the homeowners four-wheeler with her two other siblings when it crash into a tree, reported the Mid-Hudson News.
The family maintaining the house was from Copake-Hillsdale, NY. The house that the family was temporarily watching was located in Columbia County on Herrington Drive where the accident occurred.
On Saturday evening, the 8-year-old boy located the homeowner’s four-wheeler and with his 10-year-old and 3year-old sisters. The boy then crashed the all-terrain vehicle directly into a tree.
The force of the crash catapulted the 3-year-old girl off of the vehicle where she then landed underneath the weight of the four-wheeler. The father soon discovered the scene of the accident and called for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) immediately. The four-wheeler was claimed to have been borrowed. The 10-year-old girl was not taken to the hospital and the 8-year-old boy suffered minor injuries.
The 3-year-old girl was taken to the Columbia Memorial Hospital where doctors and nurses treated her serious injuries. The girl’s injuries later proved fatal. Detectives are still investigating this accident.
