Massachusetts personal injury lawyers issue an alert – MA man is gravely injured after he was run over by a van.
Boston, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A man, from Quincy, Massachusetts, was attempting to jump start his friend’s vehicle in Dorchester when the van lunged forward and struck the man holding the jumper cables, announced the Boston Globe.
The friend in the driver’s seat apparently went to rev the gas but happened to have the gears in drive, thus thrusting the man more than several yards away and finally crashed him into a white fence, reported authorities. The driver of the van then tried to free the trapped victim and ended up running him over furthering injuring this man.
Emergency Medical Personnel arrived on the scene to assess the situation where police officials were already at the scene. The man who had been slammed by the van was 48-years-old and he suffered trauma to his head after the van backed over it. His identity has not been released. The man was taken to Boston Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
The driver and the man helping to jump the vehicle were apparently friends, and this was a grave accident, according to the police officials. Authorities are investigating the possibility that the driver had no idea that the van was in drive. The local Homicide unit is continuing its investigation.
