New York truck accident lawyer report – Police officials reported pickup truck accident where teenage driver fell asleep where 3 were injured.
Floyd, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A pickup truck swerved of the road and slid into a ditch injuring 3 teenagers when the driver happened to doze off while behind the wheel, announced WKTV.
Police officials in Oneida County announced that the accident occurred early Friday morning, when the 3 teenagers were traveling down Camroden Road in Floyd. The teenager behind the wheel was identified as 18-year-old Keith Newton, resident of Rome, New York.
Police authorities reported that it was Keith’s 2002 Ford F150 that crashed into the ditch with the 2 other passengers in the vehicle. Officials arrived at the scene and learned that Keith had fallen asleep while driving when he wrecked his pickup truck and injured himself and the two other teenagers.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was at the scene to treat the injured. Paramedics transported Keith Newton to Rome Hospital for trauma to his neck. The two other teenage passengers traveling in the pickup truck were identified as 16-year-old Abbie Demarst, resident of Rome, and 16-year-old Samantha Melnick.
The two injured girls suffered minor injuries and were taken care of by the Floyd town Fire Rescue workers. Keith Newton was issues a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the line.
