Virginia automobile accident lawyers alert- A single vehicle crash involving a Ford Mustang hits a tree and catches on fire.

Yorktown, VA—A single vehicle crash seriously injured two people when the car they were riding in hit a tree and caught fire. The crash occurred on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 5 a.m., as reported by WAVY-TV 10.

According to Virginia State Police a 1998 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed in the 900 block of Dare Road. The Mustang reportedly lost control and ran off the side of the road and struck a tree. The car hit the tree with such force it bent the truck of the tree far enough it was touching the hood of the car. Area emergency medical services (EMS) crews transported the two seriously injured victims to Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Medical professionals treating the victims stated one victim is in critical condition, and the other is listed in stable condition. When investigators first took statements from the victims, they were lead to believe there were three people inside the car at the time of the crash. Further investigation proved there were only two people inside the car. A pile of clothes and a protein shake could have been easily mistaken as remains of a third victim when you took a quick glance inside the charred vehicle. Police have not released the names of the victims, but it is reported they are males. Virginia State troopers are currently investigating the crash.
