New York Car Accident Lawyer reports 2 motorcyclists suffered injuries from crashing into a sheriff’s squad vehicle.
Chittenango, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Monday night, two motorcyclists from Syracuse crashed into a Sheriffs police squad car in Chittenango announced Newsday. Police officials arrived at the scene of the accident, which occurred early in the early evening on a main New York road east of Syracuse.
Authorities reported the first motorcyclist crashed into the police department vehicle followed by the second motorcyclist that crashed into the already damaged motorcycle and Madison County Sheriff’s department vehicle. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene of the accident to treat the injured.
The Madison County Sheriff remained uninjured in the accident. The emergency paramedics transported both motorcyclists to the Syracuse hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses for their injuries. It was not reported as to whether or not the motorcyclists were wearing the proper safety attire at the time of the crash.
According to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has prepared the National Agenda for Motorcycle Safety to encourage awareness of how to be a safe motorcyclist on the road. It also explains ways to reduce the number of crashes and fatalities across the nation due to motorcycle accidents. Police detectives are investigating the possible causes for the serious accident.
