Sennett, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — In Sennett, a town close to Syracuse in upstate New York, two elderly women were killed at an intersection when they were struck by a tractor trailer vehicle, announced Newsday.
The wreck occurred Sunday afternoon in Cayuga County. Police officials arrived on the scene to identify the victims of this terrible crash and assess the situation. The two elderly women were identified as Katherine Dulian, 81, and Helen Kielecki, 85, who were traveling on State Route 34 when they drove in front of the large truck crossing the intersection.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene to treat the injured. No one was transported to the hospital for severe injuries. Authorities reported that the two women had been sisters and residents of Syracuse. Their injuries proved fatal and both women were declared dead upon police arrival.
The tractor trailer operator suffered only minor injuries from the accident. His name was not disclosed. He was treated by medical personnel at the scene of the accident.
It was unknown as to whether the intersection was closed for a period of time after this fatal accident. Investigation continues to determine the cause of the crash.
