New Jersey personal injury accident lawyer reports a double-engine Beechcraft crash lands just shy of Teterboro runways injuring pilot and driver
Teterboro, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A small personal aircraft flew into a tree before crashing in to a parking lot near Teterboro airport severely injuring the pilot and passenger, announced New York Daily News.
The plane was identified as a double-engine Beechcraft that crash-landed short of the Teterboro runways. Police officials found the two injured men near a local bus stop. They suffered from severe burns due to the fiery crash. Officials reported the crash to have occurred around 3o’clock in the morning Thursday night. Police from Little Ferry responded at the scene of the crash.
The pilot, identified as 54-year-old George Maddox, resident of Reading Pennsylvania, had burns covering one third of his body. The passenger identified as 42-year-old Sanil Gopinath, resident of Rockville, Maryland, suffered minor injuries, including burns from the blazing crash.
Emergency transportation took both injured men to St. Barnabas Medical Center to be treated for by doctors and nursed for their burns and other injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating to determine the possible cause for the small plane crash. It was unknown as to why the pilot decided not to land after hitting a tree. The front end of the plane was still intact, the wings were split and aircraft was burnt. The pilot has not been available to respond about the crash as of yet.
