Union City, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – During late afternoon traffic, a van and SUV collided at a New Jersey intersection injuring 15 passengers and both drivers, announced the Jersey Journal.
Officials reported that the collision took place at the crossroads of 30th Street and Hudson Avenue on Tuesday. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived quickly to the scene of the accident to treat the injured.
Emergency vehicles gathered at the intersection where the driver of the SUV, and all the passengers in the van required transportation to local hospitals to be treated by doctors and nurses. The Regional fire rescue workers were present at the scene to lend a hand.
The police officials of Union City announced that the injuries suffered in the collision did not appear to be fatal for the SUV driver or the 16 people traveling in the van.
The driver of the van and the operator of the SUV both claimed that it was their turn to go at the intersection at the moment of the collision. Officials stated that there is a stop light to order the flow of traffic at the intersection of 30th Street and Hudson Avenue. The driver of neither the van nor the SUV has been given further orders or citations regarding the crash.
