New Jersey SUV Accident Attorneys tell of a 2-SUV crash into ambulance on the way to Mountainside Hospital at New Jersey intersection injuring 5.
Cedar Grove, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — In Essex County, an ambulance flashing its lights and sirens was struck by an SUV which then hit another SUV injuring 5 people, announced the Star-Ledger.
Officials reported that accident that involved three vehicles occurred on Route 23 and W. Bradford Avenue around early afternoon. A Mountainside Hospital ambulance was proceeding to travel through the intersection with the sirens blaring and the lights flashing to alert traffic.
A Mazda SUV arrived at the intersection to a green light where the driver was unaware of the emergency vehicle that had already entered the intersection. The Mazda SUV crashed into the emergency vehicle, that was transported an already injured patient to the ER. After crashing into the ambulance, the SUV then ricocheted crashing into a Honda SUV.
The intersection was temporarily jammed up by two damaged Sport Utility Vehicles and one ambulance, reported police officials. Both drivers of the SUVs claimed that they suffered from injuries that were minor. Two medical service personnel sustained only minor wounds from the accident. It was reported that the person traveling in the ambulance did not suffer any serious injuries from this accident.
The patient was on his way to the ER at Mountainside Hospital for having already suffered trauma to his back before the crash. The ambulance personnel told officials that they had made a complete stop before entering into the intersection. The SUV drivers or the ambulance operator were not given any tickets for the accident.
