Personal Injury Accident Notice: Woman killed by van at reunion in Queens!

New York Personal Injury Lawyers post report – Woman killed in Flushing when a van struck her in a parking lot where the driver has been charged with murder.

Queens, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – In Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, a woman visiting from Virginia for her 15th high school reunion when she was struck by an out of control vehicle in the parking lot of the event, announced New York Daily News.

New York Police officials (NYPD) identified the woman as Paula Jimenez, who left a husband and two young daughters due to the tragic and avoidable accident. Witnesses reported to the police that Paula, chatting on her cell phone, was heading from the reunion picnic to get her wallet from her vehicle in the lot, when a van came barreling through the lot, hit a parked vehicle, which crushed Paula between the vehicles.

34-year-old Paula was transported via emergency medical services (EMS) to New York Medical Center of Queens in Flushing. Police reported that the van was exiting the Van Wyck Highway when it swerved and turned at the parking lot damaging everything in its path.
The driver of the van was identified as 49-year-old Jian Seng, resident of Flushing. Paula was declared by doctors to have suffered greatly due to the crash injuring her spinal cord, causing serious head trauma and kidney damage. Paula’s doctor phoned her husband and two daughters in Virginia to relay the news that their wife and mother suffered acute brain damage and could no longer function. Her organs were donated.

Jian Seng was charged on accounts of second-degree murder. Seng’s lawyer commented about the crash stating that the accident was due to the van having malfunctioning brakes. Prosecuting attorneys reported that Seng told officials that he was tailgating a car that stopped abruptly in front of him causing him to swerve out of control on the off ramp. Police continue to investigate.
