Oklahoma Highway Patrol alerts Oklahoma aviation accident attorneys- A single engine plane crash occurs minutes after takeoff from Riverside Airport.

Tulsa, OK—A single engine plane crash left five people dead, including a family, after the plane struck cables connected to a telecommunications tower. The fatal plane crash happened on Saturday, September 5, 2009 around 10:40 a.m. near Tulsa’s Chandler Park, as reported by Fox News.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Dallas-bound plane took off from the Jones Riverside Airport to catch an Oklahoma Sooners football game. The six-passenger Piper plane reportedly snagged a cable connected to a telecommunications tower minutes after takeoff. The plane reportedly crashed in the area near Tulsa’s Chandler Park, broke into several pieces, and caught fire. Two passengers were ejected from the plane, and three others remained inside the wreckage. Aviation accident investigators believe the rainy and foggy conditions may have made it hard for the pilot to see the cable, or tower before hitting the cable. The victims, Dr. Stephen Lester, 48; his wife, Dana; and their daughters Laura, 16, and Christina, 13; and Kevin Veteto, 50, were all pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews. No one on the ground was reportedly injured as a result of the aircraft crash. Aviation accident investigators are conducting a full plane crash investigation.
