Fire rescue and police officials reported a car struck a MTA commuter bus producing minor injuries for seven people.
Baltimore, MD (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A car struck a Maryland Transportation Administration (MTA) commuter bus in Essex, reported police officials, announce the Baltimore Sun.
The MTA commuter bus was traveling over the bridge crossing the Back River when it was struck by a vehicle that had lost control and jumped the curb and smashed into a tree. Seven individuals sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. The accident occurred around 5p.m. on Tuesday afternoon off of Virginia Avenue where Fire Rescue and medical officials responded to the call.
The Baltimore County Fire Department relations manager reported that a few of the injured were transported via ambulance to Franklin Square Hospital. Some of the other injured individuals were taken to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to be treated by doctors and nurses. The driver of the car was one of the wounded in the accident.
Police have not released the name of the driver of the vehicle or the identities of the injured on board the bus. A representative of MTA reported about the accident stating that evidence appeared to show that it was not the bus driver’s fault for the accident. Police officials continue to probe the situation.
