Verbank, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – In Dutchess County, three women of the same family were fatally injured in a car accident on Sunday in the Union Vale, announced the Poughkeepsie Journal.
New York police reported that a car with three generations of woman inside ran a stop sign and was struck by another car. The woman riding in the first vehicle were a 40-year-old daughter, resident of Milton, her 60 -year-old mother and 84-year-old grandmother, residents of Poughkeepsie, New York were all killed in the crash, the family asked that the police officers withhold the names of the three related women from the press.
The car crash happened at the crossroads of State Route 82 and Camby Road close to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The three women were traveling in a 2002 Nissan Maxima when they were struck by a 1998 Dodge Durango heading west on Route 82, reported police.
The daughter and her grandmother were declared dead at the scene by medical officials. The 60-year-old mother was transported to the Saint Francis Hospital, where her injuries proved fatal.
Emergency medical services (EMS) transported the people riding in the Durango to the Saint Francis Hospital. Authorities shut down Route 82 for over three hours to continue investigating the crash.
