Massachusetts Dump Truck collides with School Bus!

Legal news for Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Accident Lawyers—a dump truck crashed into loaded school bus in Wrentham.

Wrentham, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A yellow school bus filled with middle school and high school students collided with an asphalt dump truck Tuesday afternoon injuring students on board, announced the NECN.

The students on board of the school bus were traveling from King Phillip Regional School District middle school and high school with approximately 75 children on board. The truck driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle after his brakes gave out. He managed to evade a row of cars but then collided head on with the school bus.

The asphalt that the truck was transporting went soaring out of the bed onto the school bus and the street. The dump truck hit the school bus head on as children were exiting the bus. A local store owner, who witnessed the crash, went out to help the driver of the dump truck get out of the vehicle for fear that the truck would catch fire.

Several students sustained minor injuries from the crash. The intersection at West Street and Arnold Street is said to be a place where other crashes and collisions have occurred. Though it is a school bus stop zone, there has never been a crash involving one, sources stated.

State Troopers investigated the trucker’s brakes and emergency medical services transported the driver to Caritas Norwood Hospital to be treated for severe gashes on his face. Injured students were treated on the scene. The investigation continues.
