Legal news for Pennsylvania Personal Injury Attorneys–Debris from car crash injured attendees at charity event when car jumped the curb, reported police.
Dunmore, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – On Wednesday evening, a car drove into pedestrians attending a charity event for an injured firefighter of the Dunmore Department, announced the Scranton Times-Tribune.
The driver of the erratic car was identified as 83-year-old Herbert Kime, resident of Dunmore. He claimed that his Cadillac Seville’s brakes had gone out when he was traveling down East Drinker Street, when he crashed.
The Cadillac drove straight through the event area that had been blocked off for the “Help a Brother Out” firefighter benefit. Then the car continued on driving another 200 feet before slamming into a sidewalk curb and a utility pole where he injured pedestrians.
Four of the people close to the crash were wounded by debris that shot out from the intensity of the crash. All four of the injured were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. Two other people that were injured in the crash but refused to be treated were Sandra Butchkl and WNEP-TV reported, Kurt Aaron.
Pennsylvania police are still investigating the situation to determine the cause of the crash.
