Houston, TX—A SUV rollover left one person dead and 10 others seriously injured. The fatal SUV crash happened on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 around 11:30 p.m. along Interstate 45 in Conroe, as reported by My Fox Houston.

The SUV was packed with 11 people, which was only designed to carry five people. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead by responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews. A woman was reportedly holding an infant on her lap, while three people occupied the backseat and others sat on the floor of the SUV. Accident investigators stated no one was wearing a seat belt, and their were no child safety seats inside the vehicle when the crash occurred. Most of the 11 passengers were reportedly ejected from the vehicle, including an 11-year-old girl. The young girl was transported by EMS crews to Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands, and then taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was the airlifted by Life Flight to Texas Medical Center. The other injured passengers were reportedly rushed by EMS teams to other area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Conroe police investigators are conducting a full accident investigation into the fatal SUV rollover.
