Connecticut Motor Vehicle Accident: Norwich woman killed in 3-car wreck!

Montville, CT (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A three-vehicle crash took the life of a Norwich woman on Sunday afternoon on Route 32, announced The Day. Police officials are investigating the scene of the wreck, which occurred around 1:45 p.m. close to the Route 2a crossroads.

Police reported that a Nissan Xterra, operated by 28 year-old Lisette Oblitas, resident of Port Chester, New York was heading southbound. Simultaneously, a Toyota Sienna, operated by Joap Ortiz, resident of Norwich, Connecticut, was traveling southbound when the Nissan slammed into the Toyota, which then swerved into the northbound lanes into oncoming traffic. The Toyota launched into an oncoming Hyundai Elantra, operated by 77-year-old Phyllis Porter, also a resident of Norwich.

Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene of the 3-car accident to transport the injured. Phyllis Porter was transported via ambulance for serious injuries. Paramedics took her to the William W. Backus Hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses. Her injuries were deemed critical and she was flown to Hartford Hospital, where her injuries proved fatal.

All three vehicles involved in the crash were damaged. Police reported that Porter’s Hyundai was damaged irreparably as was the Toyota that had collided with the Hyundai.
