Legal news for New Hampshire Personal Injury Lawyers—A boat caught fire on the Cocheco River injuring 2 where fire rescue and emergency medical services reported to the scene.
Dover, NH (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A recreational boat outing became dangerous when the boat caught fire with four people on board in the Cocheco River Sunday afternoon, announced the Fosters Daily Democrat.
Four people on board the boat were only identified as two adults and two children who were all from Lee, New Hampshire. As the flames grew higher on the boat, another local boatman reportedly picked up the four trapped people from their burning boat, reported the Coast Guard. New Hampshire fire rescue workers responded to the scene after the Coast Guard boat from Portsmouth Harbor had been taming the boat fire until the firefighters arrived.
Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived on the scene to transport the injured to the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital to be treated for their injuries. The two children suffered less than life-threatening injuries. Fire fighters put out the flames in less than a half an hour.
Eyewitnesses reported that an unidentified person went to pick up the people trapped on the blazing boat soon after the fire had begun. Police reported that the New Hampshire Marine Patrol will continue to investigate the case to determine the cause of the Sunday boat fire.
