Boston, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A car made an illegal U-turn and crashed into another vehicle injuring 5 people on Morrissey Boulevard Tuesday night, announced the Boston Globe.
The crash took place near the UMass-Boston Tuesday evening. Police and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene. Police reported that a vehicle made an illegal U-turn and crashed into a car and then struck a traffic sign. The force of the crash shoved the first vehicle on top of the second vehicle.
Eye-witnesses who saw the crash ran over to help the injured people. The two witnesses were students from University of Massachusetts students Tanya Larkin, resident of Quincy, along with another student, Chester Awuni, resident of Randolph.
The two students went over to the accident and quickly began to work at removing the people out of the vehicle. Larkin pulled the driver out of the vehicle to safety as Awuni removed the car’s passenger.
Firefighters arrived and extricated the other passengers that were trapped in the back seat out. The two injured people were transported to Tufts Medical Center for treatment while the three others were treated at Boston Medical Center. Medical officials reported that none of the injuries suffered were deemed life threatening. The intersection has had 6 accidents in the month of September.
