New York motorcyclist injured by pickup truck

Legal news for New York motorcycle accident attorneys—Police authorities reported a motorcyclist was injured when a pickup truck collided with him in Manchester NY.

Manchester, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A pickup truck crashed into a motorcyclist on Route 96 on Sunday, announced the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

Ontario police officers reported to the scene near the McDonald’s restaurant on the highway around 9:30 p.m. Police reported that the pickup truck driver drove out of the McDonald’s parking lot directly into the path of the motorcyclist, who was heading westbound at the time of the accident. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 50-year-old Mark Green, of Shortsville.The motorcyclist was identified as 32-year-old William Grosz, of Palmyra.

The motorcycle struck the front end of the pickup truck, and was ejected off of his bike into the road. Officials reported that his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. New York police authorities charged the driver of the pickup with leaving the scene of the crash, failing to yield the right of way, and driving while under the influence.

Police issued a summonses to Greene to report to Clifton Springs Village Court for the charges in connection with the crash. He was released from jail, and is expected to answer to the accusations in the Manchester Town Court House at a later date.
