Hartford, CT (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A school bus transporting 18 children was in a collision with another vehicle Thursday, October, 8, 2009, announced the Hartford Courant.
The accident that occurred on the Interstate Highway 91 in Hartford Connecticut happened just before school started around 7:30 a.m. The school bus was nearing exit 29A when the collision took place.
Emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the scene of the crash on the Highway 91 to transport the injured. The 18 students were taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated by doctors and nurses, as a safety precaution.
Police reported that there wasn’t any serious injuries reported from the people traveling in the vehicle or the school bus. Officials came to clean up the massive amount of fuel, which spilled on the exit ramp from the vehicle that rear-ended the school bus.
The names and ages of students on board the bus nor both drivers were not released. The car and the school bus collided on the southbound lanes of Interstate 91.
Police reported that the vehicle crashed into the bus as it was exiting the Connecticut highway while en route to the Hartford Magnet Middle school, as reported by a representative for the Hartford school systems. Officials stated that all the children were taken to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to be treated and evaluated by doctors and nurses.
