West Gloucester, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Five people were transported the hospital after two vehicles collided, which closed both directions of Route 128 Tuesday evening, October 6, 2009, announced the Gloucester Daily Times.
The two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the highway just after 7 p.m. Officials reportedly closed the highway for about an hour to remove the debris and damaged vehicles in the roadway. The two vehicles involved in the collision were a 2000 GMC Yukon and a 2004 GMC.
The driver of the GMC SUV was identified by police as 49-year-old James Levesque, resident of Salem, who was driving with two other passengers — 50-year-old Annette Alex, resident of Peabody, and 27-year-old Danielle Kabanagh, resident of South Hamilton. The other driver involved in the crash was identified as 29-year-old Dana Hooper, resident of Boston, whose passenger was a 2-month-old infant.
Three people involved in the crash were injured. Police did not disclose the names of those injured in the crash that were taken to the Beverly Hospital. Medical officials did not say who the three people that were treated, and returned home on Tuesday night were.
The hospital had no paperwork to state that Dana Hooper and the two-month old had gone to the hospital. Police have not issued any tickets for the collision. Police detectives continue to investigate the two vehicle crash. Route 128 southbound lanes were opened shortly after 8 p.m.
