California truck wreck attorney alerts- A truck crashed into a Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority bus in Crenshaw District.
Los Angeles, CA—Fourteen people were injured after a truck sideswiped a Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) bus. The commuter bus wreck happened on Wednesday afternoon, October 7, 2009, around 1:00 p.m., in the Crenshaw District, as reported by the San Jose Mercury News.
A MTA bus was reportedly dropping off several bus passengers at a bus stop, when a passing truck sideswiped the commuter bus. Fourteen people reported injuries as a result of the wreck. Area emergency medical services (EMS) crews transported five injured passengers to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries by medical professionals. Six people were treated at the scene by responding EMS personnel, and three others refused medical treatment.
Officials stated that none of the injuries sustained in the collision appeared to be life threatening. Los Angeles police officials are currently investigating what caused the truck to hit the bus. It is unknown if the driver, or anyone else inside the truck were injured in the crash. At this time, police officials have not stated if the truck driver was cited or arrested in connection with the motor vehicle collision (MVC). A full automobile crash investigation is reportedly underway by area investigators.
