A teenage driver in a sport utility vehicle crashed into a car and fatally injured two in Boggs, PA.
Boggs, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – An out of control Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) crashed into another vehicle in the southbound lanes on Route 28/66 Saturday, October 17, 2009 according to the Leader News.
Police officials reported the crash took place close to Baum Pump Station, north of Belknap Road around 5 p.m Saturday evening.
The driver of the SUV reportedly lost control in the northbound lanes of traffic, crossed the middle embankment, and crashed into a 2004 Infiniti. Police identified the driver of the SUV as a 16-year-old girl. Her name was not released. The road conditions were slick when the crash took place, reported officials.
The Armstrong Medical Examiner’s office coroner, Robert Bower, identified the victims of the fatal accident. The two men who were traveling in the Infiniti were identified as 53-year-old William Weiler Jr., and 53-year-old Robert Girdano. The Yukon SUV that struck and killed the two men had collided with the vehicle on the passenger’s side of the car. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to transport Girdano to the ACMH Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Doctors declared him dead soon after arrival.
Weiler’s injuries proved fatal at the scene of the accident. Police reported that the teenage driver did not suffer from life-threatening injuries. The men traveling in the Infiniti had not been wearing their seat belts and the airbag did not deploy. The investigation continues.
