Rochester, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Two city buses collided at an intersection and injured eight people Monday morning, October 19, 2009, announced the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

Two public transportation buses collided at the intersection of South Plymouth Avenue and West Main Street.
Rochester police and emergency medical services (EMS) responded to scene of the accident. Officials reported the crash to have taken place at 7:50 a.m. The two buses that crashed were two Regional Transit Services buses.

Police officials reported that EMS transported eight people to local hospitals and medical centers to be treated by doctors and nurses for their injuries. Medical officials reported that there were no serious injuries sustained in the crash.

All of the injured people were reported to be in stable condition. Rochester police reported that one of the Regional Transit buses were temporarily parked at a bus stop on Main Street, when the second bus crashed into the first bus as it pulled away from the bus stop.

The collision is under investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The bus collision temporarily slowed down Monday morning traffic at the Rochester intersection.
