New York State police reported a man on a four-wheeler was injured and killed by a pickup truck in Norwich, New York.
Columbus, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A pickup truck crashed into a four-wheeler on State Route 8 in Norwich, New York Friday, October 16, 2009, announced WBGH. New York State Police reported to the scene of the accident that occurred around 3:45 p.m. in the town of Columbus located in Chenango County.
The serious motor vehicle crash sent one person to the hospital. Police identified the driver of the all terrain vehicle (ATV) more commonly known as a four-wheeler, as 45-year-old Randy McIntyre, resident of New Berlin in Chenango County.
Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene of the collision to transport the injured operator of the ATV to the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York to be treated by doctors and nurses. Randy’s injuries proved fatal soon after he was brought to the hospital.
The pickup truck driver remained uninjured in the collision. Police temporarily shut down State Route 8 for a few hours after the wreck so that the New York State Police team could reconstruct the collision to determine the cause of the crash.
