Scarborough, ME (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – The U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) www.fda.gov in cooperation with Hannaford Supermarket chains removed the “Taste of Inspirations Vegetable Spring Rolls” on October 16, 2009 due to reports of finding the unlisted ingredient of shrimp in the spring rolls posing a potential health threat for those who may be allergic.
The spring rolls product label does not state shrimp as an ingredient. There have not been any reports of sicknesses or reactions from consumers as of yet.
This voluntary recall is a safety precaution based on the action of two shopping customers in Florida who claimed that they found pieces of shrimp in the spring rolls and reported the unlisted ingredient. The spring rolls were also sold at other food stores such as Sweetbay Supermarket in Florida. Sweetbay also removed the product from the shelves due to the potential health risk.
“Taste of Inspirations Vegetable Spring Rolls” are manufactured at Original Rangoon of Massachusetts, where authorities reported the issue to the FDA to continue a full investigation.
