Northumberland County, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A former Southern Columbia Area School District school bus driver was accused of duct taping a child’s mouth before boarding the bus, announced WNEP-TV.
A boy reportedly became rowdy and the bus driver said, “”You better be quiet or I’ll put some (duct tape) on you.”
Walter was forced to resign his position on Monday, October 19, 2009 and still claims that he did not duct tape the boy’s mouth. He said that it was all a misunderstanding and that the boy put duct tape on his own face. Walter claimed that he did not want to remove it off the boy’s face so as not cause him harm.
Walter said that he had been using the duct tape to fix his seats on his bus last week. One of the boys became rambunctious and Walters claimed the boy put duct tape over his own mouth. The boy reportedly said that Walter had put the tape over his mouth. Walters said that he had been a bus driver for the Southern Columbia Area School District for about six years until this controversy arose.
Another bus driver told news sources that Walter had a good relationship with the kids and that he did not believe that accusations. Locust Township authorities are conducting an investigation about the matter.
