Worcester, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A Massachusetts state trooper’s squad car flipped over on Interstate 290 on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, announced the Worcester Telegram.
Police identified the State trooper as Officer Edward Bruso, who had reportedly lost control of his vehicle when he was heading west on the Interstate close to the Plantation Street Exit.
Officer Bruso was on his way to investigate a possible traffic accident, when his squad vehicle flipped over, bounced off the metal guardrail and landed in the middle of the road.
Officials along with emergency medical services(EMS) reported to the scene of the trooper’s wrecked vehicle that laid in the middle of the westbound lanes.
EMS transported Bruso to UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus to be treated for his non-life threatening injuries. State police officials reported that the roads were wet when Officer Bruso spun out and wrecked his vehicle.
Investigators continue to probe the crash to determine the factors involved before any information is released to the public. Accounts of two other crashes involving state troopers occurred Sunday, October, 18, 2009. A trooper identified as John Duggan collided with another vehicle while on-duty on Interstate 495 in Raynham, Massachusetts. Another trooper, Officer Patrick McGowan suffered minor injuries in a collision on Route 1 in Wrentham.
