Melville fire department and ambulances responded to a two-vehicle crash in Melville, New York where 4 were injured.
Melville, New York (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A serious two vehicle collision injured four people Wednesday morning, October 21, 2009 in Suffolk County , announced Newsday.
Police reported the crash to have taken place on Old County Road and Wolf Hill Road, where a PT Cruiser and a Toyota Camry collided. The Melville Fire Department firefighters responded to the scene of the accident to rescue trapped victims in their vehicles.
Firefighters had to remove a passenger door off the Camry with hydraulic rescue tools commonly known as the “Jaws of Life” to rescue the injured victims out of the damaged vehicle.
Emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the collision to transport two woman and two men in ambulances to the Huntington Hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses for their injuries.
Police did not release the names of those involved in the crash. Twenty Melville firefighters showed up to help at the scene of the accident. The condition of the four injured people was not known.
Chief of the Melville Fire Department James Harrison directed all the emergency personnel at the scene.
