Plainfield, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A fatal collision occurred when a motorcyclist collided with a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The victim was ejected 50 feet, and was pinned beneath another SUV on West Front Street Tuesday, October 27, 2009, announced the New Brunswick Home News Tribune.
New Jersey police investigated the three-vehicle collision at the scene of the 1000 block of West Front Street. It was reported that the motorcyclist was traveling west on the street, when an SUV pulled out of a parking lot and in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was catapulted 50 feet in the eastbound lanes of traffic, where he was struck by a second SUV.
Police responded to the scene to find the cyclist injured and trapped beneath the SUV. Emergency responders and the Plainfield Firefighters rescued the motorcyclist and administered CPR.
Plainfield Rescue Squad transported the injured cyclist to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital located in New Brunswick to be treated by doctors and nurses. Tragically, his injuries proved fatal shortly after his arrival. Police continue to investigate the fatal wreck. Police withheld the identity of the victim so that the family members could be notified first.
