Legal news for New Jersey Construction Accident attorneys—A Construction worker was seriously injured in Edison, New Jersey by a steamroller, reported police.
Edison, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A construction worker’s leg was run over by a steamroller on Route 287 in Edison on Friday October 30, 2009, announced the Star-Ledger.
New Jersey State Troopers continue to investigate the early morning accident that left the man in serious condition.
Police identified the worker as Nehal Master, who had been reportedly measuring a part of the road near Exit 1B when the steamroller crushed his leg.
The accident took place at 3:30 a.m., which resulted in several fractures in both of Nehal’s legs. He was reportedly in critical condition as of Friday afternoon. Emergency medical services (EMS) transported Nehal to the University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he went through an extensive surgery for his grave injuries.
Construction workers had been paving the traffic lanes as a 5.9-mile renovation project along Route 287. The Department of Transportation (DOT) www.dot.gov reported that the $40 million rehabilitation project should be complete in January.
A New Jersey State Trooper accident reconstruction team was at the scene of the accident. Troopers contacted to the hospital to get an update on Nehal’s condition, and were told that he was in stable condition.
