Michigan personal injury attorneys alerts- A Livingston County crash involving a LETS bus and a Dodge Intrepid resulted in a fatality.

Detroit, MI—An elderly woman was killed after her car and a Livingston Essential Transportation Service (LETS) bus collided at Grand River and Highlander Way. The fatal collision occurred on Wednesday morning, November 4, 2009 around 10:00 a.m., as reported by the Detroit News.

A Dodge Intrepid, driven by an elderly man and his wife, of Fowlerville, were traveling westbound on Grand River as the LETS bus was traveling northbound on Highlander Way. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reported in their preliminary investigation that the bus moved into the intersection against the light and collided with the Dodge. The elderly woman traveling in the Dodge, who was believed to be in her 80’s, was killed in the wreck. The elderly man driving the car sustained a potential traumatic brain injury (TBI) and was transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for treatment of his head injury. The LETS bus driver was uninjured in the fatal wreck. There were reportedly no passengers on board of the bus when the collision occurred. No citations in connection of the wreck have been issued at this time. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department’s accident reconstructionists are conducting a full investigation.
