Pedestrian faces life-threatening injuries after 2-car crash

Legal news for New York Personal Injury attorneys –A high school girl in Staten Island sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a 2-car crash said NYPD.

Staten Island, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A female pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a car in front of a high school in Staten Island, New York on Friday, November 13, 2009, announced the Staten Island Advance.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported to the scene of the serious accident that involved the high school girl. The accident took place when the female pedestrian was crossing Luten Avenue directly in front of the Tottenville High School. The pedestrian was a victim to a multi-car crash when she was struck and severely injured.

Emergency medical services (EMS) rushed to the scene and transported the female victim to Staten Island University Hospital, located in Ocean Breeze to be treated by doctors and nurses for life-threatening injuries. Her condition at the hospital was not known.

NYPD reported that the girl had been crossing the street when a Nissan Maxima had yielded to let her pass when a Saturn slammed the Nissan, which then struck her. The NYPD’s Accident Investigation Team was on the scene to determine how the accident occurred. The girl’s identity remained undisclosed.
