Florida train accident attorneys alerts- A Tri-Rail train crashed into a car in Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale, FL—A Tri-Rail commuter train struck a car that was stuck on the tracks that crossed Commercial Boulevard, just west of Interstate 95 around 8:44 a.m. Two people were killed in the crash and another was rushed to an area hospital on Thursday morning, November 18, 2009, as reported by The Palm Beach Post.

According to witnesses, a gold sedan became trapped in-between the crossing gates, when the came down while he was stopped in traffic on the tracks. The driver of the car was not able to back up, but desperately tried to get away when he pulled forward and was unable to beat the train. The northbound Tri-Rail train then smashed into the side of the car. Two female occupants were ejected from the car on impact. Two people were killed as a result, and one of the deceased female occupants was believed to be the driver. A man sustained serious injuries and was rushed by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to North Broward Medical Center for treatment by doctors and nurses. The identities of the victims have not been released, but they are believed to be out-of-state because the vehicle tags were not from Florida. The passengers on the train were offered bus service from the accident scene. Police officials are reportedly investigating the wreck.
