Reading, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A tragic and fatal motorcycle crash killed an aspiring young Reading woman when the bike collided with a pickup truck Thursday, November 19, 2009, according to the Reading Eagle.
Her mother described her as “”PJ,” the beautiful, copper-haired girl” who was a former news reported of the Eagle-Tribune. twenty-five-year-old Penny Morang Richards was the passenger riding on the back of the motorcycle.
Late Thursday morning, in North Reading, a green and sliver pickup truck collided with the motorcycle at the intersection of
Lowell and High Streets. Local residents described that intersection as “dangerous”. Penney Jean “PJ” Richards was declared dead at the scene along with the 32-year-old operator of the motorcycle.
Investigating police reported that the two were probably killed in the impact with the pickup truck. Penney’s mother said that Penney had been leaving a funeral of a friend who had passed away from a car accident when she was killed in the collision with the pickup truck.
Even 12 hours after the crash, Reading police reportedly refused to confirm that there were any deaths related to the wreck. The driver’s identity remained undisclosed. It was not clear if he sustained any injuries in the crash.
