Rochester, NH (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Rochester firefighters were called to a two-alarm fire in an industrial park in Rochester, on Saturday, November 28, 2009, announced WMUR.
The Rochester Fire Department responded to the scene at a building located on Amarosa Drive, where a fire spread through several units and severely damaged one unit identified as Granite State Plating. One of the Rochester firefighters was injured while combating the flames.
Police officials reported that the firefighter was injured when the wind knocked over the ladder, and struck the firefighter on his head. Luckily, the firefighter was wearing a helmet. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to transport the unidentified firefighter to Frisbie Memorial Hospital located in Rochester to be treated by doctors and nurses.
Authorities did not report that there were any other injuries. It was not reported how long it took to extinguish the blaze. The entire facility sustained damaged from the smoke. Firefighters reported that there was not anyone present in the building at the time of the fire. Investigating officials are currently looking into the blaze to determine how the fire was started. It was not believed to be a suspicious act.
The cause remains under investigation and it is not believed to be suspicious. Fire officials said investigators need to conduct several more interviews before a final cause can be determined.
