Louisiana automobile accident lawyers alerts- A fatal minivan crash injured 10 people.
Baton Rouge, LA—A blown tired caused a minivan to loose control and roll several times, ejecting 13 children from the vehicle along I-10. The minivan was traveling through Ascension Parish on Saturday, November 28, 2009, around 9:00 a.m., when the fatal accident occurred, as reported by WWLTV.
A minivan carrying 13 children and two adults was reportedly on its way to help one of the family members traveling in the van to move from Baton Rouge to a new house in Waggaman, when their tire blew out. The impact of the violent crash ejected all 13 of the children from the vehicle. The kids were reportedly not wearing seatbelts, while the two adults did have their seat belts fastened. Five people were tragically killed in the wreck, identified as: Mona Hines, 38; Ricky Hines Jr., 2; Lachante Floyd, 12; Edward Barnes, 14; and Ashley Hines, 14. Seven other children were seriously injured and are currently listed in critical condition at a local hospital. Two other children were also injured, but reportedly did not sustain any life-threatening injuries. The other adult, Stacy Hines, 28, was also hospitalized for her injuries. Police officials are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the fatal single-vehicle crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
