Indiana State Police alert automobile accident lawyers- A wrong-way driver on Interstate 70 caused a fatal crash.
Indianapolis, IN—A wrong-way driver caused a five-vehicle crash along Interstate 70 on Thursday, December 3, 2009. The fatal accident killed one person and injured another in the westbound lanes on I-70 near Eli Lilly facility around 7:00 a.m., as reported by WRTV Indianapolis.
According to Indiana State Police, a driver was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-70 and caused a serious pile-up. The wrong-way driver collided with three cars, a SUV, and a van. It is unknown who was killed or injured, or which vehicle they were traveling in. Police officials are not releasing the identities of the victims until their families have received the proper notification. State police are unsure where the wrong-way driver entered the interstate at, and are requesting if anyone saw a silver car enter the highway in the wrong-direction to contact them immediately. It is unknown if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the collision occurred. The injured victim was reported taken by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to an area hospital for treatment. The Indiana State Police are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the fatal wreck. No charges have been filed at this time.
