Denver, CO—Forty-two people were injured, and one person was killed when an Arrow Stage Line bus slammed into an overturned tractor-trailer on Interstate 25. The fatal motor vehicle collision (MVC) happened around 1:40 a.m., in the northbound lanes of I-25 near Casper, while on its way from Denver to Billings, Montana, as reported by The Denver Post.
The violent crash killed the 61-year-old Arrow Stage Line bus driver, and injured 42 of its passengers when the bus crashed into a semi-truck lying on its side in the middle of the highway. Wyoming Highway Patrol officials reported, a semi-truck carrying frozen meat veered into the median before overturning onto the semi’s passenger side. The overturned semi blocked all lanes of traffic on I-25. Another big rig pulled over onto the side of the road with its emergency lights on, shortly after the bus plowed into the wrecked semi. The bus was carrying a total of 47 passengers at the time. Police officials stated the bus had just got to the top of a hill when it hit the tractor-trailer and pushed it nearly 60-feet down the roadway. All of injured passengers were rushed to two different hospitals in the area for treatment. Most of the reported injuries included broken bones, like a broken jaw, broken leg, and a broken tail bone. The driver of the flipped semi was transported to Wyoming Medical Center for treatment. Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers are conducting a full investigation into the fatal crash.
