California automobile accident attorney alerts- Department of Motor Vehicles administrator injured after a Ford SUV and a Toyota Camry crashed in Petaluma, CA.
Petaluma, CA—A Department of Motor Vehicles driving test administrator was seriously injured while conducting a driving test with a student, when another unlicensed driver hit them. The two-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 around 10:10 a.m., at the intersection of southbound Sonoma Parkway and westbound Rainer Avenue, as reported by the San Jose Mercury News.
Driving test instructor, Roberto Mascardo, 63, of Sausalito, was conducting a driving test with Maria Adela Morales-Monterosa, 57, of Richmond when they were broadsided by an SUV. Mascardo and Monterosa were traveling in a 1995 Toyota Camry and were attempting to make a left turn from southbound Sonoma Parkway onto eastbound Rainer Avenue when northbound Raymundo Alvarez Sanchez, 41, of Santa Rosa, hit them with his 1992 Ford Explorer. The Ford SUV slammed into the passenger side of the car, seriously injuring Mascardo. Emergency rescue services (EMS) teams rushed Mascardo to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Both Monterosa and Sanchez were uninjured in the wreck. Police officials reported Sanchez dose not hold a valid drivers license, but has insurance. His SUV was towed and impounded, and he was issued a citation for driving without a license. Police officials are asking if anyone witnessed the wreck to contact Officer Matt Thomas at (707) 778-4335. An investigation continues.
